Portland man accused of pawning ex-wife's jewelry

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Prosecutors say a 45-year-old Portland man pawned his ex-wife's wedding ring to cover a debt he owed.
Brett Chauncey is accused of taking the ring and a diamond necklace from the woman's home in mid-July.
The Oregonian reports (http://is.gd/Uworf8) Chauncey was arraigned Thursday in Circuit Court on charges that included two counts of first-degree aggravated theft and one count of burglary.
Court papers say police found the inscribed wedding ring after checking a database of goods sold to pawn shops. An officer located the necklace by distributing a flier with a photo and description to area pawn shops.
Chauncey was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on Wednesday. He was held on $100,000 bail.Read more
