The theft of jewellery from an English mansion has been blamed on a person who posed as a house buyer.
Over one million dollars worth of jewellery was stolen from the home of Petra Ecclestone, the Formula 1 heiress, during a showing to a man who claimed he was a tycoon from Khazakstan.
The so-called millionaire stole diamond earrings and seven Rolex watches from the house in Belgravia, London.
The various Rolex watches had been worth an average of US$50,000 each.
The mansion had been listed for sale when agents organised a viewing of the property.
The jewellery had been on a bedroom nightstand when the viewing party inspected the house.
Petra, the daughter of Formula 1 chief Bernie Ecclestone, normally lives in Los Angeles on a multi-million dollar estate.
The alleged thief had viewed other expensive homes in the Belgravia area.
